Dr. Phillip Silvia is the Director of the Scientific Analysis Group for the Tall el-Hammam/Sodom Excavations in Jordan. He is a Professor in the Faculty of Archaeology, Trinity Southwest University, and a Visiting Specialist at Veritas International University School of Archaeology. His research into the destruction event that destroyed ancient Sodom is at the cutting edge of archaeological and astrophysical science, most recently presented in a paper at the American Schools of Oriental Research annual meeting (2018) and featured in a National Geographic documentary film (2019). Dr. Silvia is an expert in biblical catastrophism, and wrote his doctoral dissertation on the cosmic airburst destruction of Sodom.
